Products you can feel good about

We don't just sell products. We sell items that become part of your personal life and play an integral role in your daily routine. We know the care you put into choosing these items that transform your house into a home, and we put the same care into our product selection to ensure we offer you only the best.

ECO product program

Deployed in all our Lowe's, RONA, and Reno-Depot corporate and participating dealer stores, our ECO product program is designed to help Canadians reduce the environmental footprint of their home improvement and construction projects. We have selected thousands of products relying on the life cycle approach and the most recognized environmental certifications, and we have clearly identified them with the ECO seal─both in store and online. We are determined to continue growing our ECO product offering over the next few years.

Wood product procurement policy

To protect our forests, we are committed to offering wood products from sustainable forestry practices. In 2018, close to 75% of all treated wood, lumber and structural panels sold by Lowe's Canada’s banners were sourced from a FSC, SFI or PEFC certified forest. Our goal is simple: by 2020, for all products we sell containing wood from at-risk regions to be FSC certified; and by 2025, for all wood products we offer to be responsibly sourced.

In the same spirit, all the paper used in our offices and to produce the flyers for our banners is FSC, SFI or PEFC certified.

Our vendors' code of conduct

Offering consumers products made under safe and ethical conditions is a priority for us. To that effect, we rely on our Human Right and Conflict Minerals policies, as well as on our Vendor Code of Conduct, which outlines the requirements that must be met by all suppliers with which we do business. Several audits are carried out every year to confirm that our business partners' practices comply with the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Product safety

The safety of our customers and their loved ones is central to our business decisions, which is why we work to offer them safer products—for both their health and the environment. Accordingly, we are taking proactive action and are continually collaborating with our suppliers to find more responsible solutions and products for your home. We also launched a Safer Chemicals Policy that includes strategic actions to manage chemicals more responsibly.

Energy conservation partnerships

To help our consumers reduce their energy use, we have partnered with a number of provincial programs that promote energy-efficient solutions:
