Lowe's Canada to Hire 2,000
Employees for Spring and Summer Seasons

Company's first National Hiring Day set for Saturday March 7, 2015

2015/01/28

TORONTO, ON - January 28, 2015 — Lowe's Canada announced today it plans to hire approximately 2,000 seasonal employees at its stores across Canada to support its spring and summer seasons. The company will also host its first ever National Hiring Day on Saturday March 7th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (local time in each city) at all 37 Lowe's locations across Canada.

Potential candidates are invited to walk in to any Lowe's store across Canada to learn more about available employment opportunities and apply in person during National Hiring Day. Management teams will be onsite ready to accept applications and conduct on the spot interviews. Those unable to apply in person can go to www.lowes.ca/careers at any time to submit their applications.

"As the warm weather approaches we have a lot of great seasonal employment opportunities available," says Wanda Walkden, VP of Human Resources and Communications, Lowe's Canada. "We're looking for dedicated and passionate people who are ready to support our customers with their projects during the spring and summer months and we welcome applications from all interested candidates."

Seasonal employees are most needed in spring and summer, typically from March until September, when weather has improved and customers are ramping up their indoor and outdoor home improvement projects. Job roles include customer service associates, cashiers, loaders, stockers, sales specialists, among others.

The company is not only hiring for positions at all 37 Lowe's stores in Canada but also its Regional Distribution Centre in Milton. In addition, Lowe's has three new stores set to open later this year in Lethbridge, Saskatoon and Sault Ste. Marie and will require employees for these new markets. Interested candidates can visit www.lowes.ca/careers for more information and are encouraged to visit the site often.

Recently, Lowe's announced plans to open 25 new stores in Canada over the next three years to further expand its presence in the market and bring Lowe's closer to the customer. This supports the company's ongoing strategy to be the home improvement choice for Canadians.
