Lowe's Canada commemorates Mr. Pierre Piotte

LOWE'S CANADA COMMEMORATES A MAN WHO MARKED RONA'S HISTORY

Boucherville, QC – July 27, 2018 — It is with sadness that employees and executives at Lowe's Canada learned of the passing of Pierre Piotte, a former RONA dealer and member of the RONA’s board of directors from 1977 to 1982. The whole team extends its sincere condolences to Mr. Piotte’s family and loved ones.

Son of Napoléon Piotte, co-founder of RONA, Pierre Piotte discovered a passion for retail, hardware, and customer service at a very young age. An entrepreneur at heart, he acquired RONA Modelectric with a partner in 1966 and kept the store for over 25 years. He also played an active role within RONA and various industry associations, sitting on the board of directors of RONA, the advisory committee of the Canadian Retail Hardware Association, the Quebec Employers' Council, and the Conseil québécois du commerce de détail.

"Bold and customer-focused, M. Piotte initiated several changes that contributed to making RONA a strong brand that is still dear to Quebeckers and Canadians," said Sylvain Prud'homme, President and CEO of Lowe's Canada. "It is with much respect that we say goodbye to this great man."
