Just like brick and mortar come together to form a solid wall, we believe that combining our efforts is the key to building stronger communities.
Our major campaigns
Children's Miracle Network and Opération Enfant Soleil
Lowe's Canada is proud to be a major partner of Children's Miracle Network and Opération Enfant Soleil since 2018. With this association, we contribute to the essential work of these organizations that provide meaningful assistance to sick children and their families in Canada by supporting 14 children's hospitals across the country. Held in spring 2019, our second major fundraising campaign allowed us to present them with a total of $1,125,000.
Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau
Since 2018, we have been supporting the Charles-Bruneau Foundation as a Diamond Partner of the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau. Thanks to the generosity of our RONA and Reno-Depot customers and the involvement of the cyclists part of the Lowe's Canada team, we presented the Charles-Bruneau Foundation with a total of $2,525,000 to support pediatric cancer research, making a difference in the lives of thousands of children.
Lowe's Canada Foundation
The second Lowe's Canada Foundation golf day took place on July 15, 2019. A group of more than 300 partners and employees participated in this charity event for the two organizations supported by the Foundation: the Charles-Bruneau Foundation and the Véro & Louis Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of our suppliers, we raised over $800,000 during this fundraising campaign.
Our local campaigns
Lowe's Canada Heroes
The Lowe's Canada Heroes program gives our corporate stores and their employees the opportunity to get involved in their communities by supporting a local public school or organization of their choosing. Throughout September, our employees are raising money in stores to help the supported organization fulfill its mission or carry out a specific project. At the end of the campaign, Lowe's Canada will match customer donations by 50% up to $2,000 per store. In 2019, Lowe’s Canada received a Philanthropic Leadership Award at the Retail Council of Canada’s Excellence in Retailing Awards Gala for its Lowe’s Canada Heroes program.
An engaged head office
As a leading employer on the South Shore of Montreal, we find it important to get involved locally and contribute to the development of the communities where a significant number of our head office employees and their families live and work. To this end, we support various local organizations through volunteer activities, donations, and sponsorships.
The magic of the Holidays at Lowe's
Since 2012, our Lowe's stores in the Greater Toronto Area have helped spread Holiday cheer to thousands of children by participating in the Salvation Army's Toy Mountain campaign. From mid-November to mid-December, our stores collect new toys generously donated by customers and employees. Mountains of toys are then given to the Salvation Army and distributed to underprivileged families to help brighten their Holidays.
In 2019, 23 corporate RONA stores in Alberta, along with the Calgary distribution centre, took part in their tenth Hair Massacure fundraising campaign to support pediatric cancer research. Bringing people together since 2003, this campaign has raised over 12-million dollars over the years to brighten the future of children living with cancer. In addition to selling products to support the cause, our stores’ employees organized various activities to raise funds, some of them going so far as to dye their hair pink or shave their head off. Together, they raised more than $55,000 this year, for a grand total of more than $850,000 over the past ten years.
Habitat for Humanity
We are proud to help provide safe and affordable housing to many Canadian families through our involvement with Habitat for Humanity Canada. Since 2007, we have donated a total of over $2 million in material donations to this life-changing organization. Additionally, every year, several of our employees generously give their time as volunteers on various Habitat for Humanity building sites.
